Character Description:
Vincent stands at a towering 6’2 with a fairly broad form. His hair is dark brown and extends down to his shoulders in a curly mess. He’s notably handsome, at least by human standards anyway, with a well defined jawline and masculine features. He has a short, mostly well maintained chin strap and mustache. He wears a wide-brimmed black leather hat with a simple buckle and strap around its base for adjustment, with a notably small raven skill bound to the strap by thread. And on his hands he wears a pair of old worn leather gloves that extend halfway up to his elbow, a few straps keeping them held firmly against his forearm as well.
His attire is completed by a multitude of accessories that hint at a deadly profession. Around his neck he dorns a metallic insignia of a silver wolf head. And at his waist, a collection of pouches, holsters, and a sheathed knife adorn his belt, suggesting he is well-prepared for combat or survival. Finally, his most notable accessory was a simple pair of dark red spectacles that belonged to his family along with his pendant, both items holding great personal value to him.
Character Occupation: Alchemist & Hunter
Character Personality/Traits: Vincent is complex, driven by a deep-seated desire to prove himself and live up to his family name, while also carving out one for himself. He presents an outward calm and calculated demeanor, careful and confident in his actions. His intelligence and skills as an alchemist and hunter are tempered by a brooding nature. Backstory: Vincent considers himself a distinguished hunter, a man who holds himself to a higher standard than most, regardless if it may actually be true or not. Born into a once renowned family of monster hunters many decades ago, Vincent grew up learning the trade from his parents and their ancestors' vast wealth of experience and expertise. His family's legacy, built on generations of monster-hunting prowess, traced back to the warriors of Kouren Kai, shaped him into a formidable force against the creatures that stalked the night. And beyond being a hunter, he is a man who seeks great knowledge in many topics, particularly those of the old world before the war, and the histories that predated even that. Among many other unique topics.
Despite his impressive lineage, Vincent's early life was marked by tragedy. His mother, Cristina, tragically passed away when he was young due to the plague, not long after his father separated from her when she could no longer bear children. As a result, his relationship with his father, Simeon, was strained. Raised alongside his siblings by a demanding and often harsh father as well as his stepmother whom he cared little for, and his intense uncle. Vincent developed a deep sense of resilience and independence, as well as resentment for his father. However his father's relentless training and high expectations drove Vincent to excel in his studies and hunts.
Vincent's intensely studied alchemy and tried to broaden his tactical experience on the battlefield in the fight against supernatural threats, with the hope of joining the Hunter’s guild, even if most of his family preferred to operate independently. Especially after hearing stories of the cult and the gates to hell that opened up into the realm years ago.
Unfortunately, tragedy would strike him again some years later, the first long winter took a tole on his family, but they survived, sadly despite outlasting that hardship along with the many wars and threats in the kingdom. Eventually everyone ran out of luck. The attack on Falkvard came by surprise, organized by the Son’s of Itiris. And in their attempt to help defend the city, his uncle and two of his siblings were killed. His father as a result became deeply depressed, turning to drinking and other forms of coping, eventually even turning his step mother away, and some years later he departed on a hunt to never return.
As a result, Vincent slowly became a shadow of his former self, while he loathed his father the death of more of his family left him perturbed. Those few who survived eventually went their own ways, Vincent doing the same. Then the next long winters came, longer than the last, cold and alone he persisted through the harsh biting cold and dwindling food, finding ways to survive, some methods questionable, things many people would not be proud to admit.
But he was a fighter, and despite what he had to do to survive, he did it. At first he relied on his ability to hunt to sustain himself, but as wild game grew more sparse, he became more desperate. He stole, took advantage of people, even resulted in eating vermin. But, eventually spring came again as he stepped through to the other side of it all. But it only served to grow him to be a colder darker man, much like the long, cold, dark winter that he’d persisted through. The world had simply continued to batter him, and yet, despite his apathetic nature, he still found some sense of pride in himself for managing to overcome so much.
Today, Vincent continues his work as a hunter and fighter, more so the former. He is a strange and enigmatic figure, often seen traversing the wilderness, usually on hunts or exploring. Despite the mysteries that surround his past, Vincent's unwavering dedication to his cause drives him forward to continue down his own path, carving out a future for himself through his own means.

Magic Biography:
As part of Vincent’s training growing up he was tested for magic with low level trinkets, but unfortunately never had the chance to fully commit to the art due to his age and limitations on getting his own trinket, even with his family’s resources. Despite this he’d always kept a keen interest for the art at the back of his mind for the day he’d be able to pursue it, even if it’d be some time.As he grew older, he was placed in line for a trinket within the family, but when he got one both depended on his performance without magic, as well as availability. Something that unfortunately never came to pass unfortunately.
Please describe the magic system, including its limitations in your own words:
Magic is cast by by channeling ones magic through an object known as a trinket. The strength of this magic and the type of magic is based on the type and strength of the trinket. There are several limitations, such as said casting level, as well as the time it takes to train your magical strength, and the risks of overcasting.
Each race has a different number of aspects, an aspect being a primary magic focus for your character, allowing them to pass medium levels. Some races, such as dark elves have no aspects. Should one overuse or abuse magic beyond their limits, it can risk overcasting. This ranges from nosebleeds, headaches, passing out, to actual death.
Please describe how you would use a weak trinket with your characters first/only aspect:
Using a weak trinket of dark, one could perform simple rudimentary acts of shadow distortion or minor small movements, though at the lowest level it lacks the ability to physically manipulate large bodies.
