A book sits on the table within Falkvard’s Museum, bound in high-quality leather. The calligraphy within is of surpassing quality, with care and dillgigence put into its making. You open the book to the first page, beginning to read...
"Who knows no fear of beast or blade? Who knows no fear of dark creatures’ raids? Who knows no fear of death, of age? Explorers! Explorers! We are Explorers!"
- Explorers Guild Mantra
Who We Are
The Explorers Guild is, first and foremost, a group dedicated to the preservation of the past. Much was lost to the ravages of the Pact War and to further conflict; great cities reduced to crumbling ruins, impregnable strongholds now worn stone, their guardians yet lurking their halls. Though some join for riches, others for challenge, and yet others to sate curiosity and rediscover lost knowledge, all of our efforts are towards learning of what may otherwise disappear to the ravages of time.
We actively seek both old and new places, ones that none have set foot in for centuries or more. Though one day we may think all the world explored, the next a new ruin might be discovered, or a distant island found. There will always be new sights to be seen, so long as there are people in the world.
How To Join
To become a member of the Explorers Guild, one must first send a letter to Catherine Ingret or Erinc Topaz, its two leaders. You will then be asked offered an interview, either by letter or in person, whichever is most convenient. After the interview is over, your responses shall be sent to the other leader of the Guild, your responses discussed between us and reviewed before we offer a final answer. There is rarely any reason to decline a person membership to the guild, so do not worry too much. That said, knowledge and enthusiasm is always appreciated within our ranks.
We also occasionally do open interviews, should there be a great backlog of applicants and many wishing to offer answers in person. These have no fixed date, though we do our best to set them on a day that most can attend, and to give adequate warning in advance. If you cannot make them, though, you are always welcome to send a letter to schedule another time.

Guild Rules
1 ) Please be kind and courteous to fellow Explorers. Though you may have personal disagreements, it is important that all of us cooperate to make the Explorers a welcoming place for all.
2 ) What you do outside of the Explorers will affect you within. We expert all members to be professional when on Explorer business, and to be upstanding citizens at all times; following the law, being polite and good-natured to others, and so forth.
3 ) Please do not take any non-Explorers with you on assigned expeditions, unless they've been allowed to by a leader of the Explorers beforehand.
4 ) If an item of importance shows up during an expedition, whether it be documents, powerful magical items, or things of cultural importance, please notify all in your group for them to inspect the items in question and decide what to do with them. All items are expected to be submitted to the Explorers at large, so that items of historical importance may be recorded for posterity. All that may hold use outside a museum is expected to be fairly divided between all participants.
5 ) If there is an object in the mix that you specifically wish for, all you must do is ask. If two or more people want the same item, they may discuss it among themselves; if no agreement can be reached, the Explorers’ leaders shall make the final decision.
6 ) If you take any items during an expedition without notifying the guild and proceed to keep them for yourself, you will receive a punishment dependent on how important of an item it was, ranging from disciplinary action to expulsion from the Guild. This is determined by the Explorers’ leaders.
