This guide will walk you through the whole process of updating your Minecraft up to version 1.19.2 ready for Saphriel, including the links to all the mods recommended and needed to get up and running.
As always, best practice is to always install and run the vanilla version of Minecraft 1.19.2. In your Minecraft launcher, go into the Installations tab and select 1.19.2 (or create a New Installation set to 1.19.2). Play it and let it launch. This will download the latest release of 1.19.2 to your computer. Once Minecraft is in the Main Menu you can close it.
Next, we want to install and run Forge for the first time. I will be using Forge 1.19.2 - 43.2.0 which is the latest stable version at the time of writing. Go ahead and download the Installer from here and install Forge. You want to make sure your client is installing to your .minecraft folder which is by default in AppData\Roaming (accessed quickly by typing %appdata% in your Windows search bar).
As before, we want to run Forge for the first time before doing anything else. Run your Minecraft launcher and go into Installations tab. Forge will have a version already there by default which you can use, but I personally like to create my own. You can set Forge’s parameters here too, such as its installation directory and, under More Options, allocated memory. Once you’re ready, go ahead and run it for the first time. I would suggest you create a new world too to make sure that the game loads successfully. IMPORTANT: If you are installing the game in your normal Minecraft folder, make sure to delete all of the 1.18.2 mods from your mods folder!
Next it’s time to install all the mods. Here is the list of required and useful mods:
Required
OptiFine (version used 1.19.2 HD U H9. Make sure you download a 1.19.2 build) - here
More Player Models (pre-release!) - here
Resource Pack - here
Items Pack - here
Recommended / Useful
Worldedit (version used 7.2.12) - here
There is an Unofficial port of Litematica for 1.19.2 available here. You also need to download and install the MaFgLib dependency here.
All of these, except for the Resource and Items packs, go into the mods folder of your Forge installation. The Resource and Items packs go in the resourcepacks folder. Make sure that Minecraft launches correctly. If you experience any crashes and they don’t say which mod is causing them, remove all mods and start adding them back in one at a time.
