A system idea I made to hopefully add a more tangible and simple way to track Character Combat Experience, it's pretty long so I made it a Google Doc here;
I don't agree with everything here but I like this a lot.
A big thing it offers is player agency, giving more weight to rp choices and the feeling like focuses on weapons and such matters since theres a mechanical, tangible, effect. Especially in a world with so much magic. I've heard that staff tracks certain skillset like this to a degree but mechanical knowledge on our own characters and just how skilled they are isn't known to players, and makes it unsure on how to even push forward or progress beyond better equipment. Beyond that this could also give various rp trainings more opportunities too with traceable progression beyond saying a character is or isn't skilled in something by how it's felt out.
It will take a few days or even longer to look it all over and discuss but thank you for bringing this to the suggestion boards, it invites open discussion. A lot of this would need refinement and then testing to see if it fits in the current systems but has some good foundation that we'll take a look at. Much of it is, quite frankly, already done. And some of it is not but has parallels with other systems we have in place.

Looks like a really cool system

We'll get back to you once we examine it all.
I do think having a concrete system for progression for armament would be good. I think with more deliberation this could be very helpful.
