Magic is a strange phenomena few today understand fully, aside from the fact that it was created and controlled by the god Bothimir. It is known that the Frol were the most efficient at its use, creating powerful items and even buildings with raw magical energy itself. However, the knowledge of such things died with them thousands of years ago. Due to this, the limitations placed on the mortal races of the current era are very cumbersome, preventing them from creating powerful artifacts, constructs, buildings, and items such as the Frol did in the years since long past, though this does not mean the creation of such things are completely impossible today. While still much weaker than what the Frol forged, some forms of magical creation such as enchantment have slowly become more widespread in recent years, allowing a few select mages who are gifted with this knowledge to create enchantments for various items, weapons and armor. As for the creation of trinkets or artifacts for the use of conducting magic, sadly, the art is still lost to the ages and magic casters today must rely on what was left behind by the Frol or other sources.

Magic is cast by those who are born, or gifted, with the potential to channel their own energy through powerful artifacts left behind by older civilizations such as the Frol, commonly known today as trinkets. Each trinket is capable of being channeled into specific fields of magic based on its intended purpose. For example, an elemental trinket of fire can be used to create fire by channeling one's magical energies through it. However, the power of such effects are not solely based on the knowledge and strength of the user, but the power of the trinket itself. If one was to attempt to channel large amounts of energy through a weaker trinket, the trinket would likely shatter or even explode depending on how much energy was forced through it. During the final stages of the the Pact War, magical artifacts become scarce, and many of these were lost. Thankfully, with the war long past, many of these artifacts have been recovered, a great deal of them resting with the Mages Guild, awaiting new masters to command them.
